A glorious evening of richly romantic string repertoire for this unusual combination of instruments, from the CinC Ensemble led by the dynamic violinist Tamas Andras (RPO co-leader) and with other members from the RPO.

Biographies
Hungarian violinist Tamás András was a prize winner of the Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition in Denmark and received third prize at the Joseph Szigeti International Violin Competition in Hungary. Tamás has appeared as a soloist with the Budapest Philharmonia Orchestra, the Ukraine National Symphony Orchestra and the London Mozart Players. He has been guest leader for many of the UK’s top orchestras and is currently co-leader of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
British violinist Ellie Fagg, was described by the Strad magazine as playing ‘with a sense of enchantment’. Ellie enjoys a varied career performing around the world and has toured extensively with the LSO and with European Camerata. With the Puertas Quartet she made three tours of New Zealand and recorded two CDs on Atoll records to critical acclaim.
Chinese violist Wenhan Jiang is currently co Principal Viola of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and was formerly Principal Viola of the Ulster Orchestra. He has won multiple awards, including First Prize in the Theodore Holland Viola Competition and Third Prize in the Oskar Nedbal Viola Competition.
British/Danish violist Jenny Lewisohn performs with a rich variety of distinguished artists which takes her around the UK, Europe, South America and Asia. As a member of the Kleio String Quartet they won the First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition.
She regularly joins the London Symphony Orchestra and Aurora Orchestra with whom she has participated in memorised performances at the Proms, around the UK and abroad. A work for solo viola by Raymond Yiu has been dedicated to Jenny as well as a viola concerto by Eloise Gynn.
British cellist Naomi Watts, is a full member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and principal cello of the Caversham Ensemble. She plays with the London Chamber Orchestra, and the London Contemporary Orchestra and has performed all over the world from New York’s Carnegie Hall to London’s Royal Albert Hall, and with artists from Martha Argerich to Diana Ross. Naomi is a big advocate for music having a powerful healing capacity and has enjoyed taking part in workshops for stroke recovery, depression, dementia and playing the cello in ‘sound healing’ sessions..
British/Italian cellist Roberto Sorrentino joined the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's Cello section as No.4 in 2005. He plays on a Joseph Hill cello dated to 1768 and enjoys playing in various chamber ensembles, teaching privately and getting involved with the RPO's amazing Resound community and education programme.
The British bass player, Marianne Schofield is an improviser, composer and arranger based in London. Marianne’s dynamic musical life encompasses classical, contemporary and experimental music, and ranges from solo, chamber, and orchestral playing to writing and collaborative music creation. She is a founder member of the ground-breaking and critically acclaimed contemporary quartet, The Hermes Experiment, and is an artistic board member of the award-winning new music collective, Riot Ensemble.
