Solo piano recital - Max Mostovetski
Prizewinning German pianist Max Mostovetski will perform music written by composers who lived and worked in his inspirational home town of Leipzig. The concert will include works by JS Bach, CPE Bach, Schumann and Mendelssohn. Max will introduce and explain his inspiration for these delightful choices as he goes along.

Max Mostovetski – Piano
Max Mostovetski was born in Leipzig, Germany, in 2001 receiving his earliest musical inspirations from his mother - also a musician. He studied at the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School in Leipzig, where Kateryna Blyum, his teacher for 14 years, opened up the world of classical music to him. During this time he performed in numerous concerts and participated in various competitions; the National Bach Competition in Köthen (first prize); the Carl-Schroeder Piano Competition (first prize); the German National Youth Music Competition in the chamber music category - Hamburg (first prize); the chamber music competition “enviaM” (second prize); the Euregio Piano Award (special prize for the best interpretation of a classical sonata).
His most notable achievements were being awarded first prize at the Grotrian Steinweg International Piano Competition, held in Braunschweig; first prize with the highest score at the German National Youth Music Competition in the category piano solo and second prize at the International Carl Maria von Weber Piano Competition in Dresden. He was also a finalist and Yamaha Prize winner at the International J.S.Bach Competition in Saarbrücken.
Max has also been a participant or semi-finalist in several renowned international competitions, including the Maria Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona, Hastings International Piano Competition in the UK, the Santa Cecilia Piano Competition in Porto and the Ricard Viñes Piano Competition in Lleida.
Max performs regularly in concerts throughout Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain and was invited to appear as guest artist at the music festival MDR-Music Summer. He has also played with the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra, Dresden University Orchestra, Gotha-Eisenach Philharmonic Orchestra, the Leipzig Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Leipzig Youth Chamber Orchestra, performing concertos by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schumann.
Max has performed solo recitals in venues such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Palace Schwetzingen, the Chemnitz Opera, the Tchaikovsky House in Hamburg, the Freiberg Cathedral, and the State Theatre of Braunschweig.
Max completed his secondary school studies at the St. Thomas School, Leipzig, where J.S. Bach led the world-famous Thomanerchor. He studied at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar with Prof. Grigory Gruzman, and since 2026 has been pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Music in Lübeck with Prof. Florian Uhlig. He has attended many masterclasses and has received musical inspiration from notable contemporary musicians such as Arie Vardi, Bernd Goetzke, Boris Berman, Cyprien Katsaris, Dmitri Alexeev, Janina Fialkowska, Jacques Rouvier, Kevin Kenner, Michel Dalberto, Natalia Trull, and Anna Malikova.
